Joël Dehasse

 

Joël Dehasse  graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Université de Liège in 1979. In 1998 he completed a 3-year postgraduate course  in family therapy. He received the title of a veterinary-behavioral specialist awarded  by the State Veterinary Schools of France. Since 2002 he has  held a European degree in veterinary medicine of small animal behaviour (DECVBM-CA). He treats animal behavioral disorders and conducts  coaching for the personal development of his patients' owners. As an expert in behavioral medicine, he advises manufacturers of  food and medicine for animals.

 

Mr. Dehasse is the  author of  many popular science books on the behaviour of dogs and cats. His recent publications include: "Tout sur la psychologie du chat" (2005), "Mon chiens hors du commun" (2004), "Chiens hors du commun" (2009), "Mon chien est heureux" (2009) and "Tout sur la psychologie du chien" (2009) . In 2006 his book entitled  “Dog Aggression” was published  in Poland.

 

He organises coaching courses in the field of animal behavior. He has played a key role in the foundation  of many organisations. He is  the founder and former president (1998-2002) of the European Society of Veterinary Clinical Ethology (ESVCE), founder and former president of the European College of Veterinary Behavioral Medicine (Companion Animals) (2002). He lectures in many countries and runs a private practice in Brussels, Belgium.
